Cookie Policy

Effective 23 August 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies TOHREE actually uses today.

1. In plain language

“Cookies” and similar technologies (like browser local storage) are small pieces of data a website or app can store on your device to remember things between visits — for example, staying signed in. TOHREE's app mostly uses your browser's local storage rather than traditional cookies, for the essential, functional purposes described below.

2. Essential vs. non-essential

Essential technologies are needed for TOHREE to work at all — like staying signed in. Non-essential technologies (like analytics or advertising trackers) are optional add-ons that TOHREE does not currently use — see below.

3. What TOHREE currently uses

TOHREE's web app stores a small number of essential, functional items in your browser's local storage:

  • Sign-in token — keeps you signed in between visits, in place of a traditional session cookie.
  • Referral code — if you followed a friend's invite link, this briefly remembers the referral code until you finish registering, so your friend is credited correctly.
  • Theme preference — remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode.
  • Reading preferences — remembers reader settings like your preferred text size.
  • Install-prompt reminder — remembers if you've dismissed the “install TOHREE” prompt recently, so we don't show it again too soon.

All of these are essential/functional — TOHREE does not currently use them for advertising or cross-site tracking.

4. What TOHREE does not currently use

TOHREE does not currently use analytics cookies/trackers or advertising cookies/trackers of any kind. If that changes in the future — for example, if we introduce analytics to understand how readers use TOHREE — we'll update this policy and add the consent controls required at that time before any such technology goes live.

5. Your browser controls

You can clear your browser's local storage and cookies at any time through your browser's settings. Doing so will sign you out of TOHREE and reset any saved preferences described above.
